Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American Entrepreneur for more than 20 years. She is the controlling owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss, who is born in California, was raised in an exceptionally wealthy family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon who later became the proprietor of the Lakers and other sports businesses. When she was in the year 1972, her parents broke up in divorce and she was left feeling emotionally lost. At the age of 19 she inherited the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. Then she founded her own Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice president of the Lakers. Her father passed away in 2013, and the ownership of the Lakers was inherited by Buss as well as her siblings via a trust for the family with each sibling having equal voting rights.
